Brian Tharp 2/3/2011 PSY 210 Babies Reflection I thought that the movie was very interesting. I really did not know what the movie was going to be about, so I was pretty surprised by the documentary style film with very little dialogue. The movie was a bit graphic at some points too. I do think that the diversity between the different cultures was undeniably apparent in the film which made it more intriguing and captivating to watch. Watching this movie really made me realize how different our culture here in the US is so different from cultures across the world. The births of the babies were very different. In San Francisco, the child was born in a hospital with doctors and computers and had blankets, whereas in Namibia the baby was born outside and used different methods to detach from its mother. It just shows that two human babies can come into the world healthy and happy, but in two completely different ways. The babies are born using whatever resources are available to them.
