Michael Pereira 3-2-11 College Writing Brian Foley Contexts That Make Me A collection can be anything from paper clips of all sorts of shapes and sizes to boulders rolled off the California shore. They are both collections nonetheless, but most importantly they are different types of hobbies. Many people will argue and say these “hobbies” are more like obsessions, however that is not the proper way to go about analyzing these so called obsessions. One needs to respect the hobbies and collections of others because in some cases ones collection can be their very lives that they are collecting. Collecting countless memories and experiences, from trips to different countries to state championship games, to life itself. When it comes down to it, we are all collectors, - collecting, hoarding, obsessing, whatever it may be is human nature. It is our nature to hold on to the things that we encounter in life though some need a more tangible link to the memory they represent.
