Olga Botea The Lively Arts 4.26.2011 Jazz Lab Report I could not attend neither the Jazz event nor the alternate one due to obligations that I had to other classes and organizations so I attended the Faculty Jazz recital instead. Instantly, I was confronted with drastic changes from the classical music performance in the size of the stage. The Faculty Recital was held in Bezanson Hall which was a much smaller space as opposed to the Recital Hall where both Philadenco Dance Company and the Classical Music Ensemble Per- formed. This made the performance a lot more personal as we were sitting up close and personal to the performers and could see every little detail of their costumes, clothing, and facial expres- sions. Then, I proceeded to realize that the size of the audience, and ultimately the stage, was due to the popularity and fame of the musicians as opposed to the type of music they were to per- form.
