Question: Did the G20 Summit accomplish any of its goals? I. Introduction - II. Today I will be answering the question, Did the G20 Summit accomplish any of its goals. My answer is a definitive no. we will be analyzing this question through three main points. First we will address the g20 summit’s utter lack of concrete policy . Second we will look at its failure in establishing currency agreements between china and the us. Finally we will look at its failure in establishing free trade agreements between the US and south korea. III. With the world market in a down turn, the G20 was a perfect opportunity to fix things. IV. There was virtually no concrete economic policy that was produced from the meeting. o World Market in dire need of immediate aid – G20 produced none o The American magazine reported on November 16 2010 , “ Global equity and credit markets remain highly fragile, and most analysts expect the developed economies to experience significantly negative growth for the next few quarters .” o In a climate where G20 needed active fiscal action --- only result was
