Foster an understanding of the role auditors have in today’s business environment 2. Identify auditors’ responsibilities within the corporate governance framework 3. Develop auditing skills and competencies based on the guiding principles provided for by regulatory bodies as well as auditing and professional standards: Analyze simple business situations to assess risks and plan audit procedures Recognize the prominent role of internal controls in the performance of an audit Acquire audit evidence using several varied methods and procedures Evaluate audit evidence to form a basis for rendering an audit opinion 4.
