ELCT 371: Spring 2011 Homework #1 (based on Chapter 1) Due: Feb 3, 2011 (in class) Topics covered: General amplifier properties, cascaded amplifiers, efficiency, decibel gain, amplifier models, CMRR 1. A signal source with an open-circuit voltage of Vs = 2 mV rms and an internal resistance of 50 KOhm is connected to the input terminals of an amplifier having an open-circuit voltage gain of 100, an input resistance of 200 KOhm and an output resistance of 4 KOhm. A 4 KOhm load is connected to the output terminals. Find the voltage gains Avs = Vo/Vs and Av = Vo/Vi. Also, find the power gain and current gain. 2. A certain amplifier has an open-circuit voltage gain of unity, an input resistance of 1 MOhm, and an output resistance of 100 Ohm. The signal source an internal voltage of 5 V and an internal resistance of 200 KOhm. The load resistance is 50 Ohm. If the signal source is connected to the amplifier input terminals and the load is connected to the output terminals, find the voltage across the load and the power delivered to load. Next,
