Emily Leung March 3 rd , 2011 HTM 260 Homework Class Culture Statement Spring 2011 Respect: In this class, we come to class prepared to learn. In this class, we take personal responsibility for our decision to be here including the time of day and length of class. In this class, we know that when someone else is talking-everyone else is listening. In this class, we treat others as we would like to be treated In this class, we are polite recognizing that manners go a long way In this class, we will arrive on time and return from break on time. Open Minded Learning: In this class, we embrace new ideas that may be different from our previous ideas. In this class, we don’t judge a classmate’s view or opinion In this class, we value the opinions of students from a different academic concentration In this class, we take every topic in with the same care and consideration In this class, we take responsibility for our learning –we make sure we are getting something from each class. Fun: In this class, we engage in class activities that enhance learning In this class, we meet new people knowing that small talk is good In this class, we put everything in perspective- don’t take things too seriously or not seriously enough In this class, we realize that joyful learning is still learning Inviting: In this class, we give positive feedback in response to what others have to say In this class, we are friendly to everyone we meet- with the goal to learn about them
