Feuille #3 – Verbes Les Pronoms compléments ou Les pronoms disjoints ? Verbes suivis de à + pronom disjoint (pour les personnes) Most verbs that take à + a person can use an indirect object pronoun lui (sing) ou leur (pl) to replace à + the person(s). But the following verbs are an exception : when they refer to people, the preposition à cannot be omitted. Instead, use à + pronom disjoint (moi, toi, soi, nous, vous, lui, elle, elles, eux ) to refer to the person(s). Etre à (to belong to) Ces bijoux sont à Sylvie . Ces bijoux sont à elle . Faire attention à (to pay attention to) Fais attention au prof ! Fais attention à lui . Faire allusion à (to allude to) Penser à (to think of, about) Croire à (to believe in) Se fier à (to trust) S’intéresser à S’habituer à (to get used to) Tenir à (to be fond of, to care about, to be attached to) (Re)venir à Tu as une question ? Un moment, je vais revenir à toi. Note : For the verbs above that can refer to things as well as people, use y to replace à + thing.
