Labor Relations- dealing with unions National Labor Relations Act- 1935 What are the reasons for employees to organize into a union? o Better wages o Benefits o Working conditions o Number one reason is treatment “my boss does not respect me” Union membership is generally down each year o Started at 50% in 1950 and it’s now at 7.2% Why have employees been away from unions?
