SPCM 2061 Assignment Presenting Yourself Worth 5.0% of Final Grade Presenting  yourself--your skills and  qualifications--in a fluent, professional, organized,   and  convincing manner  is key to securing  the organizational positions you desire. The   goal of this assignment  is to begin working  on these skills. This assignment  will provide   you with  a low-risk situation  for presenting  yourself to the class. It will also provide   you with  an opportunity  to receive feedback, so you understand  what  I consider   important. You will select a position  to “apply”  for and  pretend  your audience is the organization   who is interviewing  you. Using the qualifications described  in the ad/description, you   will plan  a brief presentation  designed  to show  how  you meet these qualifications and   thus, are ideal for the position. To meet the requirements  of this assignment, your   responsibilities are as followed: 1. Select an advertisement. The newspaper, LSU Career Services, and  on-line services,  like Monster.com, are a great place to begin your search. 2. On the day indicated  in your schedule, you will present this advertisement  to your   instructor for approval.  3. Plan and  prepare a presentation  that includes  an introduction, body, and  conclusion.   Your goal should  be to prove how  your skills and  qualifications specifically   match the skills and  qualifications found  in the advertisement.  4. Practice and  give the presentation  in class.  Bring Instructor Evaluation form AND  a  videotape on the day you present. 5. Watch your videotape  and  complete the Self-Assessment  questions. Type you   answers and  turn  them  in on the date indicated  on your schedule. Please remember, this assignment is videotaped.  You MUST bring a videotape to class on the day you present  or you will lose 5 points Presentation Requirements 1.
