Human Population Growth and Earth’s limited Resources Problem- Using up of Fossil Fuels Solution- Hybrid technology (Hydrogen, Electric, Natural Gas), Smaller cars (Smart Car, etc), Increase availability of public transportation Problem- Deforestation Solution- Limit lumbering by location and time of the year, Plant trees in new areas and older striped areas, use other materials to build homes, more protected land Problem- Urban Sprawl Solution- Build up, condense normal size of home (like what is done in Tokyo) P ROBLEM - F OOD S UPPLY S OLUTION - G ENETIC MODIFICATION OF PLANTS As the population grows there are fewer resources for people to get food and to survive. Genetically Altered food can provide increased vitamins and can improve health, but there isn’t long term research about the effects of genetically altered food on people. According to Malthusian theory of population, population increases in a geometrical ratio, whereas food supply increases in an arithmetic ratio.
