Unformatted text preview: Thesis Statement: I am going to present a case study on 4 college students in the dorm rooms through their ways of establishing social business and roles, I was able to develop conclusions about the power needs of the individuals and through conversational devices, it was clear the what was said and what was really meant by these young ladies. At the beginning of every school year, a new set of freshmen college students begin a year of dramatic changes. The students live in a 16x8 square-ish room that they will spend the next school year in, some living with people they know or others going pot-luck (having your room mate randomly selected by the University) I recorded 4 college students and myself, in my dorm room, both on weekdays in the late afternoon, both had similarities and differences after comparing the fieldnotes. The two recordings were not with the same people, but of the four people, three of the people were in the recordings.
