Hypothesis The Purpose of this report is to determine the difference in the development of drawing complexity between gender and age in children. The report will demonstrate at what levels, both girls and boys, mature in fine motor skills and will offer a level of development expectation amongst younger children. It is predicted that girls have a stronger ability to use their fine motor skill in the early years of life compared to boys who focus on gross motor skills. The results are predicted to emphasize this development stage across a range of ages and gender. Method To compile the data required, test subjects were asked to score a range of children’s drawings. Subjects were not aware of the age or gender of the drawings creators and were shown them in a random pattern. The slides were played with an even time in between drawing. Subjects were asked to place the score into a scale to calculate statistics (Marlin, S 2009. Course readings , unpublished script). Scores, once recorded, were placed into a uniform scale
