1 .How does e-mail benefit an organization? Why might an organization want to limit how an employee uses e-mail during work hours? What is an e-mail’s path once it leaves? E-mail is great for an organization as it allows managers to communicate with employees, employees to communicate with each other, and employees to communicate with their customers instantly. With e-mail it also allows the organization to transfer and move documents quickly and efficiently. With the ability to reach customers on a more personal level, this increases a business’s customer service as well. Now a customer can receive direct feedback from someone within the organization, boosting a company’s position with its customer base. However, an employee can also communicate on personal business as well which would be a reason for a company to limit who can e-mail. Obviously a labor position has no need to use e- mail except through an intranet system that an organization uses. Even though it is fast and easy, when used for personal business, an employee is stealing time away from their job. Once an e-mail is sent, it travels through the internet until it reaches the recipient. Depending on the recipients e-mail server, will determine exactly where it will go. However, when an e-mail is sent through a company’s intranet, that electronic letter stays within an organizations server. Leaving an electronic trail that allows someone to follow the message where ever it travels. 2. What is the effect of instant messaging on organizational networks? What are the benefits
