WENDY ACHILLIES Activity Based Costing could be beneficial to companies by determining how much money was spent on elements of resource/accounts and what was it spent on, to include personnel, equipment, facilities and supplies/materials. It could determine whether those activities were being conducted efficiently or were they necessary. It can help break down to see if other groups within the organization were performing those activities better than others. And generally gives you the idea how the output, products or services was produced. In most organization workers do not have an idea how cost effectiveness strategies could save a company. Workers are concerned with their hourly wages and benefits and not the performance of the company. The implementation of ABC can make the employees understand the hidden cost associated with a project. This could give them an insight to what is important and what is not of value.
