Unformatted text preview: Faculty of Social Science Division of Economics The Division of Economics provides carefully-designed systematic and scientific programmes. The objectives of these programmes are to offer the students an analytical framework, to stimulate them to think about economic issues, and to enhance their abilities to analyze them independently. The students receive a solid foundation and rigorous training in economic theory, mathematics and statistics. They are also required to apply economic theory and analytical tools to analyze a range of economic issues. Both theory and applications are stressed. MPhil-PhD in Economics Admission Code: ECO Programme MPhil Stream An MPhil candidate must meet a minimum requirement of 21 units of coursework (7 term courses) and 6 units of Thesis Research course per term.
