1) Does Ethics depend on religion? Why or why not? Ethics should be treated in different region where religion cannot affect. Ethics is the study of different theories of what is good or bad, right or wrong in human conduct. Even this says ethics is one of categories of religion, they have some contradictions. For example, does the time spent in church should be the time spent feeding poor in terms of human conduct? Probably, helping and feeding poor is the right and good thing to do as human than spending time in church. Moreover, according to Kantian Ethics, even 2 nd commandment contradicts the definition of ethics shown above. 2 nd commandment says “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” This means we should love the entire human race equally. However, can we say loving serial killer is good and right? The answer is no. Therefore, Ethics should not depend on religion. 2) Assess pro and con whether engineering should have benefiting humanity as a criteria of professionalism.
