What exactly is high blood  What exactly is high blood  pressure????? pressure????? High blood pressure = Hypertension Blood pressure is a result of the contractions of  the heart muscle, which pumps blood through  the body and the resistance of the walls of the  vessels through which the blood flows  Each time the heart beats, your blood pressure  It is highest when the heart contracts; reflected  by the top number (Systolic Blood Pressure)

It is lowest between contractions =  Diastolic Blood Pressure (bottom number) The pressure is greatest within the arteries  an indication of health HBP occurs when the artery walls become  constricted so that the force exerted as the  blood flows through them is greater than it  should be!
