Dented Hardwood Flooring A solid hardwood floor has such an important role in giving your surroundings a comfortable and lavish feel that even a small dent on it stands out a lot. However, bad luck sometimes can’t avoid tapping or dropping on your floor. So let’s imagine you do end up with this unfortunate experience and it making you feel awfully bad; now what to do? Some people would go straight to ripping off the board and installing a new one. However don’t take such drastic measures that would surely lead to huge costs. Try a basic “home-made recipe”; if you could put it that way! It is common knowledge that wood swells due to water exposure or basically damp heat; quite an unusual way to put it though. Well firstly, make the tiniest of holes inside the indented area of the floor- it is best to use a needle to avoid visible holes. Well now put around 3 to 5 droplets of water inside the dent, making sure they seep into the small holes. Now heat up your iron to its maximum capacity. Next, take a towel and dampen its corner.
