Dennis Chia Per. 4 A Cold Experience It was December 25th, 2004, I had finally come to face what I couldn’t have since the pass couple months. Standing in a graveyard full of grey stones, with a musty smell, and a feeling of fear of what I was about to realize. In front of me a magnificent tombstone, with huge, bold letters “Here lies Mai Ling Ying, a daughter, a sister, and a friend.” As I stared at the sheet of white snow covering over the bits of the green grass, I felt like if a thousand needles were stabbing at my heart. This odd and unfamiliar feeling of coldness ran up and down my body like if I was a big icicle. It just shows you how life can switch gears on you in one second flat. One moment I was in the heat of my life and enjoying every bit of it, from having a great summer to finally getting somewhere in my academics. Then receiving the phone call of my life, “Dennis, Mai she. ...she. ..she’s dead.”, that turn my whole life upside down and inside out. I dropped the
