Source 1 China Changes Face: The Road from Revolution 1949-1989 by John Gittings Many reason shows the reliability of this book. John Gittings is an Asia specialist and written four other books on China. The book was published by Oxford University Press, which has published many books on China. The book provides a select bibliography that includes eyewitness interviews. Some of these eyewitness accounts includes Edgar Snow’s and William Hinton’s interview of Mao Zedong and the Red Army. Not only dose he provide many quotes from Mao Zedong and the Red Army, but also that of both sides of the Chinese citizens. Source 2 The Great Chinese Revolution 1800-1985 by John King Fairbank John King Fairbank wrote numerous books on China and other items relating to China. This book was published by Harper & Row Publishers. His research on Modern China began at Harvard University. He has been president of the Association for Asian Studies and of the American Historical Association. This book has gotten many praise from Philadelphia Inquirer , Library Journal , Washington Post , and many more.
