My topic for my research report is used in cleaning products has melting and boiling points of 2365K, 4275K respectively and crystal sculptors can be made out of it. Can you guess what it is? Yes that’s right it is Boron the element on the periodic table which is a solid . Many think that Boron was know about for around 600 years beginning with the Babylonians. Many other races have reported from around the world mostly from the Middle East and Asia. We have history on the Arabs using it because of words like baurach to express a number of materials including borax. Plus, in Arabic the word they used was burah. The Tibetans were some of the first peoples that we found that had information on this they named tincal which came from their Sanskrit language. Many knew of its existence but it wasn’t until 1808 that Sir Humphry Davy, Joseph Louis Gay-Lussac, and Louis Jacques Thenard. This happened when they found a reaction between boric acid and potassium. Davy decided to call it boracium. It wasn’t
