being in the right place at the right time. Some of the other characters that play in important role in the plot are his mother, Jenny, Bubba, and Lt. Dan. His mother gives him the motivation to always keep a positive attitude and never let anyone think they were better than him. Jenny also has a role similar to Forrest’s mothers, she starts as a young girl who meets Forrest on his first day of school on the bus, and she allows him a seat when no one else would. She also keeps Forrest’s heart wrapped around her finger but never sees his real love because she is always the girl just slightly out of his reach. Bubba is Forrest’s “Best Good Friend” whom he meets on the bus right after he has enlisted in the army. Bubba’s real name is Benjamin Buford Blue, but Bubba for short he has a dream of being a shrimp boat captain but is killed in Vietnam. Finally,
