White people are divided in South Africa, First whites were Portuguese, then Dutch, In 19 th century Britain whose interest in India was increased say South Africa as a strategically important place, settles in Cape Town. Dutch inhabitants start to leave and go northward; they displaced members of Zulu and Xhosa tribes. The Dutch were second class to the British. After scramble for India, British starts to put pressure on the Bores, starts the Bore war. Boers went into a post ruling time period they saw eye to eye with the British and had a common enemy in the lower black class. Resistance to apartheid, it’s a post WWII creation, around 46-48. Resistance early on comes in MLK Ghandi like nonviolent protest, by 60’s its bomb throwing and very violent. 2 major organizations keeping this going: the communists and the African National Congress.
