1. What is one aspect of Title VII that has been violated by the company? Title VII prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin. This story depicts violations of almost every aspect of Title VII. Terminating employees based on race (25% of white male employees last year) is discriminatory in nature and may be one of the most glaring violations. We are missing some information, but if Jackie was out on FMLA leave, as it sounds like she might have been, her supervisor cannot file complaints against her for excessive absenteeism as she had a valid medical leave. These two instances denote racial and disability discrimination. 2. Which actions by the two employees that call their credibility into question are you allowed, as an employer, to consider? Or, what types of actions are you not allowed to use and why? Are there any you wish you could use?
