Strategic Quality 2 Apple uses many tools and techniques to achieve its goals in the economic marketplace. The organization has many accomplishments, which took strategic planning to execute. To develop, improve, and extend the product, Apple Computer continually conducts SWOT analysis. The organization also developed guiding principles including a mission and vision statement to incorporate quality throughout the organization. The guiding principles help the organization create a strategic plan to incorporate quality principle to achieve customer satisfaction and long-term goals. The organization must develop tools to measure customer satisfaction to enhance quality throughout the organization. A Depiction of Apple Apple Computer, Inc. known now as just Apple, Inc. was founded in 1976 by Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs with only $1,300. The first product Apple, Inc. every sold were boxes which allowed people to make long- distance calls for free. Since then they have evolved by leaps and bounds. One of their biggest debuts to date came in 1984 when the Macintosh computer was introduced to the world. Apple had sold other computers such as the Apple I, II, III, and Lisa which did not do well at all, but Macintosh was introduced to the world through commercial and Apple, Inc. has been a top competitor since. Apple’s current competitors are: Compaq Computer Corporation Dell Computer Corporation International Business Machines Corporation Microsoft Corporation Hewlett-Packard Company

Strategic Quality 3 Apple, Inc. milestone dates were: Apple is one of the first personal computer companies to reach a profit of $1 billion in annual sales. 1982 The release of the PowerBook line of notebook computers. 1991 Power Macintosh line is released. 1994 The all-in-one iMac is released. 1998 The release of the iPod; the first retail store in Virginia opens. 2001 In 2003 Apple opens first store in Japan. The release of a video iPod, the fifth generation of the device, pushes total iPod unit sales to 30 million. 2005 The Apple iPhone, the MacBook line of portable computers, and the Apple iPad announced on January 27, 2010. Apple SWOT Analysis Apple Incorporated is one of the strongest and most innovative electronics companies in the world, however the company like all others is not without fault. With SWOT analysis Apple, Incorporated has stayed a leader in the industry by continuing to make improvements to their company and products. One of the most recent popular Apple products has is the popularity of the iPod music player.
