Hartman Industries is a manufacturing organization that needs to provide quality to be a competitive force in the economic marketplace. A proven quality managements system and practices will help the organization achieve their long-term goals and gives the organization the tools to be combative in its target market. The purpose of this document is to provide details about Harman quality management practices, how the process benefit the organization, and quality tools for identifying and reducing process variability. Quality Management System for Organizational Improvement Hartman Industries is a high volume manufacturing organization; therefore Six Sigma would be the best quality management system to improve processes and the organization. Six Sigma simplified means the measurement of quality that strives for near perfection. It is a disciplined system that is a data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects in any process including manufacturing to transactional and from product to service (iSixSigma, 2000-2011). Six Sigma has six steps to improving an organization and its’ processes 1. Determine the characteristics of the products customers want. 2. Characteristics must be classified by their importance. 3. Identify and determine whether characteristics are controlled by part or process. 4. Determine the level of tolerance for all classified characteristics. 5. Identify the variation in processes for all classified characteristics. 6. The product, process or both must be change within the design in order for Six Sigma to process to be achieved. Six Sigma is stem of total quality that pushes and organization to achieve a higher level of quality where customers’ needs are fulfilled. the specification describing acceptable product can be loosened enough to correspond to the Benefits of Six Sigma Concept Hartman Industries, LLC prides itself with its attention to detail, extreme precision, and high quality control standards. The Six Sigma concept is used in conjunction with the company’s current total quality control program to further enhance the quality of products that customers come to expect. With the focus of the company being quality, the Six Sigma concept will be a huge benefit if utilized properly. By following the steps lined out in the Six Sigma concept, the company will be better able to streamline its processes and procedures. There are many benefits to be had when using the Six Sigma concept. The main benefit will be a decrease in the number of defective items. By decreasing the number of products that cannot be sold, it cuts back on waste and increases the amount of products that can be sold. This will lower production costs because there will be less money wasted on products that can never be sold to the general population. It will also increase the number of higher quality products that
