Williams 1 Darryl Williams Clara Butler HE 101-05 19 April 2011 Body Weight and Body Composition The current trend in America is to look as the celebrities and athletes do; lean, tone, and all around healthy. Even though many of those who belong under the category of rich and famous keep their physiques looking so well by have plastic surgery or personal stylists, the key is to actually live a healthy lifestyle. It may sound like an old cliché, but the best way to achieve a healthy body weight and composition is to eat healthy and exercise regularly. Some people are fooled into thinking they are the right body composition because they have a low body weight, but that is not always the case. Body composition can easily be described as the percentage of bone, fat, and muscle in the body. Body weight is merely defined as the weight of someone’s body, which includes bone, fat, and muscle. The combination of both a healthy body composition and a healthy body weight will result in the determination of leanness, which is what most people should be striving for. In order for people to achieve leanness, they must first fully understand body weight, the body mass index, and body composition. When it comes to body weight, people should not compare themselves with everyone else
