Transient intensity storms § For many design problems it is necessary to know how rainfall is distributed over the duration of the storm. § This requires a rainfall hyetograph (distribution of intensity vs. time). § In order to design for unknown future rainfall events we use synthetic transient storms to create design storms with region specific intensity distributions. § Common methods for developing variable intensity design storms § SCS (NRCS) method § Alternating block method
