Exam #1 Preparation Physics 211 Spring 2007 Exam #1 is scheduled for next Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 7:15pm. The exam will be administered in the following rooms: Section 1 – EPS 103 (A-P); and EPS 108 (R-Z). Section 2- Roberts 101. The exam will be closed book, but a list of relevant equations will be provided. The registrar’s office has reserved these rooms for our class until 9:00pm, so those wishing more time to complete the test may stay until 9:00pm. Greg Francis will be available on Monday evening from 5:00 - 6:00pm in EPS 103 (the lecture room) to answer questions in preparation for Exam #1: The following skills should be mastered in preparation for Exam #1: • Know how to convert from one set of units to another. For example, changing miles per hour to m/s. • Know the difference between vectors and scalars. Know which quantities are scalar in nature. • Know how to add several vectors to find the resultant (sum) vector. • Know how to find the difference between two vectors by drawing them tail-to-tail and
