Attraction plays a role in who we choose as romantic partners, but it also has a role in our choices of (platonic) friends, even which family members we’re closest with. What Determines Attraction? Repeated exposure to any stimulus leads to greater liking of the stimulus We tend to be more attracted to people who we have had contact with several times (National Health and Social Life Survey, 1994)
