Statistical Methods in Business 33:623:385:01 Professor Ted H. Szatrowski MTh *8:40am-10am in Beck 250 (*8:10am-9:30am on 10/4, 10/11, 11/1, 12/6/2010) Fall, 2010 You are responsible to read this and all other handouts before the next class after they have been distributed. 1 Exam Dates : Exam I : Oct. 4; Exam II : Nov.1; Final Exam : Dec. 20: 4pm-7pm (as per official schedule-a group final exam). Conflicts: let me know by Sept. 16, 2010. If another instructor does not let you know when their exam is, I suggest you let them know this information in the first week of classes if the date they schedule their exam would cause you a problem if it is on my exam date. Exam Conditions : Closed book, closed notes, calculators ok. A formula sheet to be provided with exam will be given out before the exam. Seating at exams will be assigned. Course Grades will be based on the results of the three examinations plus any other graded assignments and quizzes and class participation. Note that a score of 0 will be assigned on any missed exams. Course grades will not be given by telephone or email. If you leave me a self-addressed stamped postcard or envelope with a piece of paper inside it, I will mail you your grade as soon as it is available. Otherwise check grades thru the university telephone or online registration system. Minimum grade if greater than or equal to overall per cent: A, 90%; B+, 87%; B, 80%; C+, 77%; C, 70%. Attendance : Required. Students are expected to be current and knowledgeable on all material covered at prior lectures and on reading, viewing and homework assignments as well as the material in basic statistics. Unannounced quizzes may be given. Performance in class will be considered in the final course grade. Students are expected to arrive before the start of the class, and to attend the entire class. If you will be late or miss a class, you should notify me by email at least 2 hours before the start of class including the reason for your not attending. Attendance at examinations : Required. If you have a conflict, write me a note with your name and reason prior to the end of the class before the exam. You are excused from the exam only if I then, by the end of that class, agree to excuse you and we have set up a time and place for a makeup exam. Incompletes
