. Difficulties with lower intestine-
constipation- food, dehydration, lack of movement.
Diarrhea

Managing bowel movements-
documentation,
assessment, bowel routines, enemas, suppositories, oral medications.
GU-
stool is the intestines
waste disposal system, urine is the bloods waste system, the kidneys have many roles- fluid balance,
waste separation, electrolyte balancing.
Urinary tract infections
- higher in woman, shorter urethra.
Bladder infection is left untreated- kidney infection- blood infection (sepsis)
Purpose of hygiene

sensation- diabetes, MS, paralysis, nerve damage, circulation impairment (burns, strokes) Hyper-
sensation in autism. Follow client’s routine, but be flexible if client wants to change routine. Visual
schedules, PECS, House rules, social stories and social lectures.
