Numbered problems are from Digital Design and Computer Architecture by Harris and Harris. 5. Work the problems in order. 6. Show your work. 7. You are encouraged to work problems with other students but each student should submit his or her own work. 8. Staple or paper clip your solutions in the upper left hand corner (if more than one page). 9. You may have points deducted for not following directions. Problems: 1. Design the state diagram of a circuit that compares two inputs, w and x, and produces an output z =1 whenever w = x for four consecutive clock cycles. 2.
