Outline for Speech #2 Informative Speech Name of Speaker: Ryan Hayes Topic: Stress, Insomnia, and how it affects our lives General Purpose: To Inform Specific Purpose: At the end of my speech, the audience should be able to identify 3 ways insomnia and stress affects our lives. Visual Aid: PowerPoint Presentation Organizational Pattern: Topically- Primacy Introduction I. Attention Getter: There have been times when sleep just wasn’t on the menu me. I get back from a great Friday night. I set the alarm for the typical 2PM time. I wake up not feeling refreshed. I see 6AM but I don’t believe it. Are you serious? What am I doing up this early? Then, there are other times when I wait late at night until the roommate goes to sleep and when he does…he starts snoring. Now if this all happened in one day I would go insane. II. Thesis/Subject: With cases of Insomnia on the rise, we should know why it is now a serious problem for Americans and find ways prevent Insomnia. III. Relevance to Audience/Reason audience should listen: Problems with sleep are quite common at colleges, and knowing the background can help widen their knowledge of the subject.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
