Fall 2011 Prof. Bland In the handout Marginal Values we began to explore issues of sensitivity/postoptimality analysis, including: adding a new variable, varying a right-hand-side coefficient. This handout will deal with several additional issues and tools in postoptimality analysis: adding a constraint, right-hand-side parametrics, and the dual simplex method . We will illustrate these ideas in the context of the following linear programming example (Grandma’s Sausage problem with Type #1, Type #2, and Type #3 sausages. (Type #3 was previously labeled Type #0, but marketing decided that wasn’t working.)
