Exam 1 Review Guide, Spring 2007 The exam will consist of 67 multiple choice questions worth 3 points each (total of 201 points). General suggestions for preparing for this exam: This exam is not a test of your memorization skills. It is intended to test your ability to know when to use the Excel features we have covered in the course. Concentrate on knowing about WHAT the Excel features are called and what they do, and not how to apply them. You will not be asked questions about how to access a certain feature using menu paths, toolbars, icons, etc. Exam content will come primarily from class discussion, class exercises, and Excel examples presented in class. Use your chapter readings as a reference to clarify or further explain concepts covered in class. A few items may be included on this exam from the chapter readings that were not explicitly discussed in class. You are directed to those concepts via the review questions below. A good way to supplement your preparation for the exam is to redo the class exercises and practice problems in Excel. Some exam questions will come from applications of specific formulas, functions, models, and Excel features/tools used in the classroom practice problems. Answering the following questions may help you prepare for the exam: 1. Explain what makes Excel formulas “flexible”. 2.
