Added 20ml of water in the graduated cylinder 3. The accurate starting volume at the meniscus is 20mL 4. Took a balance 5. Placed the graduated cylinder with the water to the balance 6. Total mass with water: 95.000g 7. Added 10g of solid #4 in the graduated cylinder 8. Total mass of solid #4: 105.000g - 95.000g = 10.000g 9. The volume of solid #4: 29.5mL - 20mL = 9.5mL 10. The density of solid #4: 10g / 9.5mL = 1.05 g/mL Part 3: Determine the Melting Point of the Solid 1. Took a small test tube 2. Added 5g of solid #4 in the test tube 3. Added a thermometer in the test tube 4. Temperature: 21.5 5. Took a bunsen burner 6. Placed the test tube onto the Bunsen burner
