To: Sue From: Patrick Hill Date: October 18, 2010 Subject: E-COMMERCE SITE Dear Sue: To develop a website to enroll clients for a Majestic River Ventures adventure there are many things you must do. First you must have a server computer at the address of the website. A Web server, possibly a commerce server, will process the request and send back the default page. The user must be able to navigate through the Web pages, so when the user clicks on a Web page the commerce server will access the database and retrieve data on the products in question. So when the customer clicks on a specific tour data will be retrieved to describe that tour, including difficulty of the rapids, length of the trip, leaders on the trip, etc. When the user is ready to pay for a trip or product there will need to be a confirmation of that the user signed up for the right trip and they user is able to do that trip.

Unformatted text preview: After this agreement the customer will check out. The commerce server will process payment and the agreement, into the database. Some possible procedures that an e-commerce site could develop to prevent inappropriate enrollments include:-Age restriction with certain trips-An agreement saying that the user knows what rapid they are signing up for-Digital receipt to prove payment-Allows instructors to email/contact clients before trip -Restriction on people with disabilities, surgical procedures, and handicaps. You can design your website to make sure that customers are informed of what type of trip they are signing up for so that there are no more problems like the man who could barely walk. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Patrick Hill at [email protected] . Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Patrick Hill...
