Garden City - devised in England in order to combine the benefits of town and country, and involved the creation of a town built in the countryside with all facilities. Normative (Revolutionary) programs - Evolutionary programs - Ville Radieuse - Le Corbusier’s plan for an ideal city, created in the 1930’s. It was highly centralized and densely populated yet most of its surface was given to zones of leisure (i.e. parks) Zielenbau - Nazism (architecturally) - of three types: stripped neo- classicism, vernacular (Alpine), and simple, utilitarian, industrialized type for factories. Hitler believed that “form should follow function”. Socialist realism - official style of the Soviet Union; consisted of stripped Classicism. Novecento Movement - established in Milan, group of architects who wanted to return to Neo-Classicism and favored the use of symbolical motifs while utilizing new materials and technology; Closely associated with Fascism.
