Evan Brown BUS 101 Terri Barr 10 April 2011 World Is Flat The first point of evidence supporting the statement that the world is flat and Americans aren’t ready is the increase of fiber optic cables connecting the world. These cables are used to create our internet and able us to communicate freely and openly. Friedman says that we can now share knowledge and work without regarding time distance, geography and increasingly language. This happens because our applications now run freely and effectively throughout the world with others applications and we can expand horizontally that way. The second point of evidence that supports the statement that the world is flat and Americans aren’t ready is that we have had our heads turned when the world went flat. Friedman says that CEOs understand the world is flat, but “nobody told the kids.” Meaning that we still haven’t adapted to the change of acting and thinking horizontally and are still thinking vertically. We aren’t used to connecting and adapting to other foreign things. At this point we are getting left
