Michael Mesrobian 5/6/09 MUS 185 B Final Paper Music: the Expressions of Life As the material presented this semester has shown, music can be made from almost any physical object. From the percussion of Africa and Asia to the brass of the West, innovative people looking for an outlet for their thoughts and feelings have formed instruments over time. People all over the world share the same feelings of frustration, happiness, love, excitement, etc. and turn to performance, either for an audience or just for themselves, as a way of sharing the their feelings. By producing noises in coordinating beats and rhythms, the entire emotional spectrum can be simulated and broadcasted to others. The beauty of music lies in the creation of emotion from the manipulation of physical objects. Since the age of 8 I have played the trumpet. I remember picking up my cousin’s trumpet at the age of 5 and blowing into it for fun.
