Evan Brown MUS 181 B Andrea Ridilla 14 November 2010 Experience Report 8 Cinderella In 5-7 sentences, describe TWO elements of this opera’s plot that differ from the Cinderella story you know. (12 points) The overall plot of this opera was consistent with the Disney Cinderella story I am used to. There were a few elements that were in the opera but not the Disney story. Cinderella thinking of suicide and Cinderella having a father were not in the Cinderella I am used to. These two elements add emotion and drama. This gave length to the opera and gave a new twist to a commonly known story. Adding a dad to the opera gave Cinderella a helping hand. In the normal story it is only Cinderella and her mother with the two mean step sisters. The father in the opera gives Cinderella some support and allows the listener to get deep into her head because she is constantly expressing her thoughts with her father. In 4-5 sentences, describe how recitative is used in this opera and what this musical style
