HR Essay questions Human Resource Management 1. Explain why human resource management (HRM) is important to organizational success. The HR department of an organization has one of the most important roles. Employees are the main capital of a company, as they are going to be the ones, who create the value of the company. The perfomance of every employee will directly affect the good or bad results an organization can have. HRM allows organizations to have an overall control about their human resources, for example, with HRM organizations can know when do they need to hire or fire employees, how they can keep the employees that are already in the company and prevent the resignation of them, and which potential candidates are the indicated for the position. HRM also creates the necessary environment/culture an organization can need to perform well. This could be for example, to maintain the good relationship between the different departments, to do an appropriate orientation to new employees and in general to make that employees feel that they are part of the company. HRM is important for three reasons. You mentioned the impact of performance and partly for the competitive advantage but not the important for the organizations strategy. 2. Discuss the two purposes of human resource planning. One purpose of the human resource planning is to avoid sudden people shortages and surpluses. When an organization does an effectively HR planning there would not be a lack of personal to perform a specific task or either too much people to perform a task, which do not require too many employees. On the other hand, another purpose of Human resource planning is to identify the actual and future necessities of human resources so the company can achieve its low-term, medium-term and long-term goals Furthermore, you should say something about the two steps: (1) assessing current human resources, and (2) meeting future HR needs.
