Music 101: Introduction to Music Review Sheet December 5, 2010 The following is a summary of what you will be expected to know for the final exam on December 21, 2010: Listening The first part of the exam will involve listening to three works drawn from the list below. In discussing the work, you should comment on as many aspects as possible of each piece that played a role in our class discussions. Included in these comments should be an identification of the work, followed by a description of any relevant musical, social, political, cultural, or otherwise noteworthy features. If the piece is from the Western art music canon, you might want to identify the historical period from which it originates and discuss how the piece is (or isn’t) characteristic of that era. If the work originates elsewhere, a discussion of any qualities or ideas shared with Western music, or the impact of one musical style on the other may be in order. In any such discussion, be sure to use the appropriate terminology.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
