Win 1 Lai Yin Win EN 102 ( Definition Essay ) Professor Quaye Fall 2011 " Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal " ( Adams, 43 ). This was a speech given by the sixteenth president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on November 19, 1863. This speech became one of the most famous speeches of all time. Everyone could understand this claim easily by stating that " Seven years ago, our forefathers created this nation with Liberty and Unity with that promise of accepting that all men are created equally as long as they are standing on this nation's territory ". In this claim, what is the extent of being equal? Does it mean that everyone accepting as being created equally without considering race, gender, social factors, physical factors, economic factors and psychological factors? According
