Introduction Many of these applications that have been applied in this experiment can be essential in everyday situations in the workforce or field. Many types of different materials have certain characteristic traits and properties that improve or weaken the structure. For example; ductility, elasticity, malleability, hardness, etc. These properties can be crucial in the design of any common structure and if not applied properly may cause failure within the field. The main calculations that are most commonly tested are stress and strain. These are used to describe how much tension or compression a material can undergo before it reaches its point of plasticity or deformation. The cantilever experiment is designed to display the elasticity of an aluminum bar by the adding of basic weights and provide an input of stress and strain. Purpose The purpose of this experiment is to measure the modulus of elasticity of an aluminum beam by the loading of free weights. This is used to show the elasticity and stiffness of
