Pomegranate (Export Future.com) Sample Pomegranate Ms. Jan Zahn English 134-69 Artifact Response 10/14/09 The Seeds of Judgment Picture a fairly tall, brooding Hispanic male college student. He has heavy eyebrows, gelled hair and a serious look on his face. Now if you were to pick a single item to represent him what would you choose? A Mexican flag? A cross? A picture of his family perhaps? Would you ever choose a pomegranate? My subject Eduardo is definitely not your average person. He is thoughtful and imaginative and wonderful in a lot of ways, but his choice of a pomegranate for his personal artifact was a surprisingly accurate decision. You see Eduardo recognizes his place in the world as merely a single facet of an infinitely intricate pattern of life. The selection of what many may consider a mere fruit demonstrates his humble personality. He does not assume that his life is more important than even an ant on the sidewalk. He classifies all living things as being of equal importance, disregarding their net worth or commercial importance. This rare outlook on his surroundings allows him to truly appreciate all that is around him and
