Student Sample Sorority Ms. Jan Zahn English 134-69 Artifact Response October 15, 2009 Meaning Behind A Sorority Shirt The artifact my interviewee and I chose was her sorority shirt. This shirt is very simple, yet attractive. It is not low cut or tight fitting, it instead has a slight V-neck. There are sleeves that are medium length, so they’re not long sleeves, but also not short t-shirt style sleeves. In the upper right hand part of the shirt the current year ’09 and “Bid Day” are printed. The term “Bid Day” refers to the day that all the girls who pledged for sororities find out which sorority chose them. In the bottom left hand part of the shirt the symbol of my interviewee’s sorority, Chi Omega, is printed. On the back of the shirt there is a quote that states, “Chi Omegas, Always stand out…Never stand alone.” This quote is printed in a cursive style in a highlighter pink color. The main color of this artifact is black with the writing in highlighter pink and
