I. Conservation of Copper Exp. 7 Date Performed: 3/3/11 Name: Breanna Jameson Date Submitted: 3/17/11 Chemistry 1045L-35 Tong Chen II. Purpose The experiment shows how the law of conservation of mass is true and valid in the use of stoichiometry. The experiment allowed us to calculate that the reactants and products of the reaction had a total mass that remained unchanged within experimental error and that a reaction actually occurred. We used an analytical balance and produced our first chemical solution and were exposed to the concept of experimental error.
